Tanner at Six Months

Hey guys, it has been a while since the last post. The car is running great and I had a great time with family over the Thanksgiving holidays. Tanner is now six months old, so I had taken him to the Vet to have a heartworm test and it all came out negative. He also weighed in at 24.3 pounds. While we were at Petsmart, I went ahead and took him to the groomers to have him bathe and shaved. (He sheds ALOT!). Here are pics of Tanner at six months and shaved:

My New Baby!

Well it turns out that my 2002 Sentra blew a head gasket and would need the engine replaced. So instead of replacing it, I decided to trade it in and get a new car. And what did I get? A 2008 Honda Civic SI!!! Finally a car that I have always wanted. Here are some first pics of my new ride:

Snip Snip Snip

Today I dropped Tanner off at the Bansfield Pet Hospital for his neutering and microchipped. The procedure went well with no complications. I picked him up around 6:30 and the nurse said that he is pretty playful. I thought he would be more tired than playful. I had to put him in the crate when we got home because I did not want him to pull the stitching out running around. He also looked very cute with the cone around his neck. Since this is my first neutering, does anyone have an tips on taking care of him for the next few days until he heals?

Paul Dislocates Shoulder....Again!

I just received a call from Paul and he said that he had dislocated his shoulder again during practice. Looks like he returned to the field a little too early. He will now sit out the rest of the season and recover from the injury. Just wanted to let you guys know that he is doing fine.

Russel Peters at The Punchline

Tonight I went with Steve and a couple of his friend to The Punchline to watch Russell Peters. Man, the place was packed with Indian folks. It was about 95% Indian in there tonight. The two comedians that opened for him were pretty funny, but I do not remember their names. We sat so close, literally right next to the stage. When he first came out, he asked me how I was doing. He also started his routine by talking about Asians and their love for DDR (Dance Revolution). He made a few jokes toward me throughout his routine, including asking me my name. I told him it's Sammy, and he asked if I had a chinese name. So I said Siu-Fai. He then joked "isn't that a french name? Sue Flay?" It was funny as hell. Other than the mike going out a couple of times and the gay Indian guy in the yellow sweater, the act was great and I had a blast. Below is a pic from my phone of how close I was to the stage. Sorry I did not get one of him, but we were not allowed to take pics during the show.

Oh yeah, it is Russell Peters' 37th Birthday today. So Happy Birthday Russell!

16 Weeks - Groomed

I just got home from picking up Tanner from the groomers at Petsmart. He got a bath, brushed, nails clipped and a massage. I've also bought him a new couch/bed from Walmart. It is awesome because it looks like a couch and it's the same color as my sofa. Here are pics of the groomed Tanner and his new couch.

I also went by Best Buy and bought Knocked Up. Now Tanner will lay on his couch while I'll lay on my couch and enjoy the movie.

Widow's Peak on a Dog?

As I went home this afternoon to take Tanner out for his daily potty break, I noticed something on his forehead. It looks like he has a widow's peak. His hair is usually tan, but on the top of his head there are some black hairs that forms a peak. So I took a quick snap shot of this with my camera phone. (sorry about the bad quality of the pic).

His widow's peak makes him look kind of like me. Guess he takes after his daddy. Also, I just look at the previous pics I posted that Deb took a couple of weeks ago and he did not have the peak. I guess it just turned black recently.

Microsoft Windows on Mac OS?

Today at work I finally got my iMac setup with Parallels to run Windows XP and Windows Vista. This is a pretty neat program that allow me to user both OS within Mac OSX. I am starting to really get into Mac and hope to get a certification in Mac sometime within the near future. Check out the screenshots I took of my Mac Desktop:

This is a shot of the selection menu when I open up the Parallels program and allowed to choose which Windows OS I would like to log into. Unfortunately I am unable to run both OS at the same time because it will require too much memory usage and bog down my machine. I found this out the hard way.

This is a screenshot of the Parallels running Windows XP on the iMac. There are three ways to you can view the Windows. You can have it as a single window, full screen or coherence. As you can see I have mine set up as coherence so I can see both the Windows taskbar and the OSX taskbar.

This final shot is of the Parallels running Windows Vista on my iMac. As you can see I also have it set to coherence view. After messing with the iMac, I am now really considering getting me a new MacBook for my personal use, I just wish it was not so expensive. But I guess if you want quality, you got to pay for it.

Football Season is Here Finally!

Sorry I have not posted in a couple of weeks. Here is a rundown of the past couple of weeks.

Tanner:

I took Tanner to the Vet for a check-up on August 31st. He weighed in at 11 lbs and has probably put on a couple of more since then. He got a couple of booster shots and his first Rabies shot. I also got him his monthly fleas and heart worms meds. He has been doing great since then. Click here for the most recent pics of him that Debbie took that weekend.

Football:
College: Football season started couple weekends ago too. Wah and Paul came down to watch the first weekends of college football. We spent the weekend sitting around and eating. During game time, we sat back drinking beer and eating wings from Wing Zone. Unfortunately, my Vols were beaten by Cal 45-31. But it's okay, because UGA was beaten by the Gamecocks 16-12 the following weekend. Let just hope USC get knocked down by Nebraska this weekend and the Vols take the Gators this coming weekend. Go Vols!
Pros: NFL started this past weekend and let's just say: Falcons sucks! But who knows, it was game one and we still have a long season ahead. Hopefully they can get it together and win some games. After their play this weekend though, it looks like the Dirty Birds are in for a long season.
Fantasy: With the start of the NFL season, mark the start of our yearly Fantasy Football season. I have a good feeling about my team this season and hopefully I do not finish at the bottom. But after weekend, I went 0-3 (3 Leagues), which does not look too good. But I believe I will bounce back this weekend.
Conclusion:
As you can see, the past two weeks have not been too exciting for me, except for the start of the football season. Also, this past weekend Wah and I have gotten our airline tickets for our annual trip to LA. So we'll see you west coast folks in December. Until next time, GO VOLS and GO FALCONS!

Dave Chappelle at the Tabernacle

Tonight I went to see Dave Chappelle at the Tabernacle with my friend Steve and cousin Paul. It was a pretty good show and Chappelle is frickin' hilarious. The show was suppose to start at 7pm but he did not get on stage until around 8pm and was on for about an hour and a fifteen minutes. He made some funny racial jokes and some references to Vick and dogfighting. His last bit about reality versus perception was pretty good and funny, but was a bit long. Overall, it was a great show and I am just glad I was able to see Dave Chappelle in person. Well worth the money to see him in a live show. I could not take any pictures with my phone since we had to have them turned off during the show, so I cannot show where we were sitting, but they were pretty good seats and we could see Chappelle pretty good. I had a great time and hope to catch another one of his shows in the future. This was also my first live comedy show and hope to see many more, probably Russell Peters at the end of September. Well just wanted to brag about seeing Dave Chappelle.

Pandora

This site is awesome. Thanks to David L. for sending me this link. The playlists are created based on an Artist or Song that you type in. It will find songs of similar sounds, melodies, etc. Just type in an Artist or Song that you like. Great for at work and to listen to songs you will probably not hear on the mainstream radio stations. Click on the link below and check it out.

Big Pie in the Sky Pizzeria

Today was one of my co-worker's birthday, so we decided to throw in a surprise birthday party. They elected me to go pick up the pizza and cake for the party. So I took an early lunch to go take Tanner out and then headed to pick up the cake and pizza. Went by Publix and got a Chocolate Cake with Fudge icing. Right next to the Publix on Jiles Road off the Wade Green exit, was Big Pie in the Sky Pizzeria, where we had ordered the pizza. This was no ordinary pizza. The co-workers had ordered a 30" pizza with ground beef topping. The first thing the waiter asked me when I went to pick it up was "how big is your car?". The pizza could barely fit into my trunk. Surprisingly, we finished the whole pizza, but it took a bunch of us to devour it all. Below is the pic of the monster:

Tanner Meets Taz

This weekend I brought Tanner up to Dalton to meet Taz for the first time. Tanner was a little shy at first, but once he got comfortable he began trying to play with Taz. He started barking at Taz and jumped on him, but once Taz stood up, Tanner quiet down and backed off. Taz put Tanner in his place a couple of time by knocking him down with his head. By the end of the weekend though, they were good buddies.

Also, Tanner had his first taste of the swimming pool. But it was not what he expected. He fell into the pool while the kids were playing with him and he sunk straight to the bottom like a rock. Luckily, Wah was there to pick him up out of the pool. I'm going to have to teach Tanner how to swim.

Check out the pics we took this weekend of Tanner and Taz. Taz was easy to get to pose for pictures, but we had a little trouble getting Tanner to stand still.

Rush Hour 3 - A+

While in Dalton this weekend, we went and watched Rush Hour 3. It was hilarious and the action scenes were awesome. Chris Tucker is just too damn funny and Jackie Chan is still amazing with his ninja stunts. I highly recommend everyone to see this movie, well worth the money. Also, I did not know Allen was going to be in the movie? (hint: scene where they fight the giant chinese guy).

Tanner - 9 Weeks Old

Tanner had an appointment today with the Vet to get his second set of shots. He received two booster shots (for Corona Virus and Distemper Parvo) and a new shot for Giardia. He weighed in at 7.8 lbs, which means he gained 3.7 lbs since his last visit. He behaved very well at the Vet, but did scream when he received his shots. He tested negative for Roundworms, but they gave me another dewormer medicine just to make sure. Joanne had gone over during lunch to feed him and she said that he is doing fine and no negative reactions to the shots. He is scheduled to go back to the Vet in 3 weeks. I just wanted to give you guys an update on Tanner since I have not wrote about him in a while.

**I will post some updated pics of him tonight**

Breaking News: #52 Dislocates Shoulder

Dalton (GA) Catamount LB Paul "Mad Cow" Wong (#52) was injured on a practice play this morning during training camp in Bell Buckle, Tennessee. Wong was transported to the nearby hospital in Shelby, TN where X-rays reveal a dislocated shoulder. The injury will likely end the Sophomore's 2007 season before it even begins. Wong will rehab the shoulder and continue to practice with the team. Wong was a starter on the Junior Varsity team and was going to see some playing time with the Varsity team before the injury occurred.

Here is a picture of his X-ray:

Artuzzi's Italian Kitchen

Today I went down to Atlanta to finish fixing Simon's computer. After Steve and I had gone to Ginstar to get the parts, we decided to get something to eat. I had a craving for pasta, so we decided to eat at Artuzzi's Italian Kitchen over on Briarcliff Road by Steve's apartment. The place was very nice and cool atmosphere when we walked in. My order was the Baked Classic Meat Lasagna, side Caesar Salad, and a Coke. The food was really good, but the portion was very small for the price. It reminded me of a high class Fazoli's. The food was great, but way over priced. I prefer Fazoli's because you can get the same quality food for cheaper, plus the unlimited bread.

Dreamland BBQ

Well this past weekend, Steve and I had the whole day to kill before David and Steph's wedding. So for lunch, we decided to go eat at Dreamland BBQ. I have been wanted to go back to eat at Dreamland since I ate at the one in Roswell, GA. Man it was very good! I had a half rack of BBQ ribs, corn on a cob, and a Budweiser. I would definitely recommend Dreamland to anyone who visits Alabama. They sure make good BBQ.

Simpsonized!

Bobby sent me a link yesterday to play around with to Simpsonize myself. I tried it, but I do not believe it look anything like me. It makes me look like a old, creepy, child molester. But it was fun for a good laugh. Here is the Simpsonized me from the photo I submitted (let me know what you think):

Mazal Tov!

This weekend I attended one of my oldest and best friend's wedding in Birmingham, Alabama.

We arrived on Friday afternoon, checked into the hotel and took a nap. We then went to the B&A Warehouse for the rehearsal dinner. We met old friends, David and Stephanie's family, and some of David's fraternity brothers (I had met them a couple years back when I visited David in Athens). The dinner buffet was very good and of course, I helped myself to the open bar. The drink of the night: Budweiser.

The wedding was on Saturday at the Temple Emanu-El. The ceremony was beautiful and Stephanie looked wonderful in her wedding gown. The reception followed the ceremony at the Temple, and of course again, I helped myself to the open bar. The drink of the night: Crown and Coke. I do not remember the night too much, maybe I had a little too much to drink. But I do remember watching the guest do the Horah dance (I thought they only do that in the movies). Overall, it was a great weekend and I had a great time.

I just wanted to say congratulations to David and Stephanie. You two are perfect for each other and I wish you guys a long, wonderful life together. Thank you for inviting me to the wedding, I had a wonderful time. Mazal Tov!!

***Sorry I do not have any pics from the wedding. I did not bring my camera. I will post some pics if I get my hands on any.***

The Simpsons Movie - A+

This morning me and my friend Steve woke up early to watch a 9:30am showing of The Simpsons Movie before heading to Birmingham. The movie was awesome and I give it 5 stars out of 5. It had everything you wanted in a movie. It had Love, Heartbreak, Comedy, Action, and mild Nudity. This is a must see movie and I highly recommend it to everyone.

Tanner's First Weekend in Dalton

This weekend I took Tanner to Dalton to introduce him to the family. He had a great time playing with the kids. They totally wore him out. He would run around and play with them for a few minutes and then all of a sudden just pass out from exhaustion. But he had a great time and all the kids loved him. Debbie finally got to meet Tanner and she is prepared to take care of him this coming weekend when I head to Birmingham for a wedding. She was kind enough to take care of him Saturday night to allow me to get a good night sleep. But what she did not expect was for Tanner to drop a load on her bed. Luckily, it was only one lump and she was able to hold him over a trashcan for him to drop the rest. Good boy Tanner! lol.

Another plus to the weekend was when I beat Paul in NCAA 08 with the Tennessee Vols vs. the UGA Bulldogs. The historic event started when Paul scored a TD, going up by 4 points with 12 seconds left to go in the 4th quarter (only a touchdown will help me now). He kicks off to me and I return it up the middle, about 80 yards, for a TOUCHDOWN! Probably a prediction of what my Vols are going to do to the Dawgs this up-coming season. Damn I can't wait for football season! GO VOLS!

Note: I changed the color layout because Wah's old eyes could not handle the dark coloring.

Tanner at 6 weeks old

I took Tanner to the Vet today at Petsmart. He weighed in at 4.1 pounds. He only received 2 shots today, the Distemper Parvo LA Vaccine and the Corona Virus Vaccine. The most disturbing news from this Check-up is that he has ROUNDWORMS! (I was wondering why his stomach looked so bloated) So the Vet gave me a dewormer med and his heartworm prevention pill to give to him tonight. His next set of shots will be in 3 weeks. Here are a couple of random shots from last night. Is it normal for him to be sleeping on his back?

Ten Best Towns for Families

According to Family Circle magazine, Kennesaw is one of the top "Ten Best Towns for Families".

http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/metro/cobb/stories/2007/07/19/kennesaw_0720.html

I've never actually pictured Kennesaw as a great town to live in. But after reading this article, I can see why it was ranked high up there. I like living in Kennesaw because it's a nice, small, quiet town with a short driving distance to the big city of ATL. I enjoy the fact that we have a very, VERY low crime rate. Possibly due to the law that each household must own a firearm.

I am just surprised to see Kennesaw getting this much attention and I enjoy the fact that if I decide to have a family one day, this would be a nice place to raise them.

Well it's the end of the day, I am leaving work before another phone call comes in.

Tanner's Official Full Name

It was tough deciding what to name Tanner when I first got him on Saturday. We had a bunch of good names thrown out there. (i.e. Homer, Parker, Shooter, etc.). So now I have finally decided on his official name. It will be "Tanner Ninja Wong".

I want to give props to Wah for coming up with the name. But after I decided to name him Tanner, Wah said it sounds too White. But I'm going to keep it anyways.

Ninja came courtesy of Paul (Nicknamed "Mad Cow" by Si). When we first picked up Tanner, Paul was first to suggested the name. Here are a couple of pics that show the ninja inside him. I had blocked off a section of the apartment for him and he somehow snuck out and ended up on the shelf of my end table.

Let me know what you guys think of his name.

Tanner at 5 weeks old

I got Tanner today. He is a puggle (pug and beagle mix). Here are the first shots of him. Enjoy!
